CROSS THE SAHARA

 

On the 5th January 2008 our chairperson, Angela Faal and her husband Michael the director together with soon to be trustee Lamin Bojang will drive from Manchester to The Gambia in west Africa in a 4x4 second hand Renault Traffic Ambulance to raise funds for Clear Waters newest project which is to build a one stop testing centre near the rural town of tanji in the Kombo South district of the Gambia

The journey will take approximately three weeks through several countries.

  • SENEGAL AND THE GAMBIA

The one-stop testing centre.

IN THE NEW YEAR WE ARE SHIPPIMG A 40FT CONTAINER toTHE GAMBIA, ENOUGH TO EQUIP AND FURNISH THE WHOLE CLINIC. THERE WILL BE WAITING AREAS INSIDE AND OUT, TWO CONSULTING ROOMS, A LABORATORY AND PHARMACY. IT IS NOT UNHEARD OF FOR PEOPLE IN RURAL AREAS TO DIE ON THE ROAD OR IN THE TRANSPORT ON THE WAY TO THE ROYAL VICTORIA HOSPITAL IN THE CAPITAL BANJUL.

 

Fundraising.

CLEAR WATERS WILL BE RAISING FUNDS FROM NOW UNTIL JANUARY, OUR GOAL WILL BE £10,000. WE HAVE MANY SCHEMES ONGOING AND WILL KEEP UPDATING THE SITE. YOU ARE WELCOME TO KEEP TRACK OF OUR PROGRESS OR IF YOU THINK YOU CAN HELP IN ANY WAY PLEASE GO TO LINKS PAGE TO MAKE A DONATION.
